From comedy clubs to cruise ships, colleges to corporate events, Scott Wood has been hailed as one of the funniest stand-up comedians working today.
Known as “Mr. Punchline”, Scott’s style of rapid fire one-liners and off the cuff improv has left audiences rolling in the aisles all across the United States and abroad in a variety of television, radio and personal appearances.
Born February 8, 1961 in Glendora, California this multi-talented Comedian and Voice Impressionist always leave ‘em laughing and begging for more! Since going full time with his comedy back in 1989 this veteran performer has had some incredible highlights.Scott has not only won every comedy contest he’s ever entered but he was recently named Stand-Up Comedy Champion after winning the Improv Comedy Clubs’ talent search for “funniest comedian”. Scott has studied and performed with top Improv troupes such as the Groundlings, Second City and Comedy Sportz. Scott has headlined top comedy clubs throughout the U.S. and has appeared at the Sahara and Harrah’s Hotels in Las Vegas. Scott has also performed in concert opening for such music sensations as Blood, Sweat and Tears, Beatlemania, Tower Of Power, Little Anthony and the Imperials and country music artist’s Brooks and Dunn.
Besides comedy Scott is also an accomplished Impressionist with over three hundred voices in his repertoire, including George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, John Travolta, the Simpson’s, Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and the list goes on and on.
Scott is also an exceptional singing impressionist as well performing such artists as Michael Bolton, Frank Sinatra, N’Sync, Elvis Presley and dozens more. Scott’s impressions have been heard on such top radio programs as the Weekly Top Forty with Rick Dees, The Five O’clock Funnies on KLOS and KABC’s Peter Tilden Show. Scott was also the host of his own talk radio show which aired on KBRT. Scott can currently be heard as the voice of Byron the Elephant on the children’s video series “Kingsley’s Meadow”.
Scott has had four comedy releases over the past few years including “Comedy at Warped Speed” a live video performance which earned him a seal of approval award by the Dove Foundation for family entertainment. Comedian Steve Allen was one of the founding board members.
Scott has several writing credits to his name as well, most recently as a contributing joke writer for the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and the comedy magazine, Laugh-Line. Also he was a major contributor for two nationally released books, “Comedy Comes Clean” and “Comedy Comes Clean 2”.Reader’s Digest has also published his material, featuring him in their top fifty funniest one-liners of all time. (Scott’s jokes were showcased alongside the likes of Woody Allen, Jerry Seinfeld and Robin Williams). Scott is the creator, co-writer and star of the upcoming sit-com “My Life in Punchlines”
